Image courtesy Michael Veit Scissor Bees (Genus Chelostoma) Two non-native scissor bees are possible on Bellflowers in VT. One uncommon, punitive generalist has been found a few times on Bellflower, while a specialist is known from as close as Montreal. Louisiana Painted-Dark Bee (Stelis louisae) This colorful Dark Bee is a cleptoparasite of the Bellflower Resin Bee. Though its a generalist in its own flower preferences, it is tied to its bellflowers through the diet of its host.
