This is a common and occasionally identifiable all black Lasioglossum. It is active from May through September, and while a generalist, it appears to have a preference for flowers with an open structure such as strawberries, daisies, and chicory.
Identification: Moderately sized for a Lasioglossum, this species is best recognized by the jet black body and coarsely sculptured sides of the thorax. A small patch of white hairs is occasionally visible on the sides of the middle terga.
Similar Species: Several other Lasioglossum are small and all dark, but are generally have a smoother texture to their body. Also compare Pseudopanurgus.
