This is the most common fall Cellophane-cuckoo, best found on goldenrod in August.

Identification: Though somewhat variable, the red scutellum eliminates most of the similar species in VT.

Similar Species: The Dwarf Cellophane-cuckoo Bee (Epeolus pusillus) is the most similar species, though much rarer. It is generally smaller with little to no red on the scutellum.

Known or Suspected Hosts: Spine-shouldered Cellophane Bee (Colletes simulans)
