This bodily patterned bee is a cleptoparasite of the Broad-footed Cellophane Bee (Colletes latitarsis), which is a specialist on Ground Cherries and Tomatillos (Genus Physalis). Look for both in July and August in gardens or weedy fields with Physalis.

Identification: Moderately sized, dark bee with two distinct white hair bands on the abdomen and red on the thorax.

Similar Species: Unique.
