This was one of the more surprising finds of the Wild Bee Survey. Known primarily from further west, this is a Groundcherry and Tomatillo specialist that is very similar to the more common and widespread Broad-footed Cellophane Bee (Colletes latitarsis).
Identification: This is a moderately sized, hairy gray bee.
Similar Species: Broad-footed Cellophane Bee (Colletes latitarsis) is slightly larger and has a broader third segment on the hind legs.
