This gorgeous bee seems to be restricted to areas of high quality sand, with only a few scattered VT records. As the name implies, its a specialist on goldenrod.

 Identification: Largely covered in short, golden hairs. Small.

Similar Species: Most similar to the American Cellophane Bee (Colletes americanus), but with more abundant golden hairs on the abdomen.
