Vermont records for this late summer bee are few and far between. Seems to have a strong preference for Spirea and be limited to the Champlain Valley

 Identification: This is a relatively large, dark Mining bee with sparse hairs on the thorax but distinct white hair bands on the abdomen.

Similar Species: Quite similar to other species in the subgenus Trachandrena. Clear photos of the face and abdomen are likely necessary for ID.
