This widespread bee is uncommon in VT and difficult to confidently ID from photos.

Identification: Relatively small for a Cellophane Bee, without dark hairs on the thorax.

Similar Species: Goldenrod Cellophane Bee (Colletes solidaginis) are similar sized, but with more abundant pale gold hairs on the abdomen. Apparently is restricted to areas of high-quality sand.
