This is a common bee associated with a common woodland flower. Though a diversity of spring bees visit Spring Beauties, females of this specialist are the most likely to be carrying large quantities of the pink pollen. Both males and females of this specialist can at least occasionally be identified from photographs.

Identification: This is a medium-small species with sparse grayish hairs and a slender overall appearance. Females have noticeably narrow facial fovae and abundant, long scopal hairs on their tibia.
