This species is widely distributed across the northern hemisphere and in Vermont. It is an early spring bee that nests in sandy soil.
Identification: A relatively large Mining Bee with dense, brownish hair on the thorax and distinct white hair bands on the abdomen.
Similar Species: Trout-lily Mining Bee (Andrena erythronii)
