Lestes vigilax (Swamp Spreadwing)Widespread in Vermont. Encountered on larger ponds and lakes in association with fish (Stokes and McPeek, 2006). While there is significant overlap with the flight season of L. inaequalis, L. vigilax tends to be become more common in July while the numbers of L. inaequalis are declining. It is not uncommon to see L. vigilax feeding on smaller damselflies.
