Gomphus fraternus (Midland Clubtail)A recent addition to the state, it has been found only where the Poultney River merges into Lake Champlain. First discovered on 4 June 2009, as adults on a sandy shore, a larva was taken from the river nearby and reared the following year. In addition, adults have been found in nearby fields. This species should be looked for in the northwest corner of the state and perhaps along the Connecticut River in southeast Vermont.
