Where present, this can be an abundant species. Most likely in sandy areas with goldenrods or other composites in July through September. It has a habit of "photo bombing" other species on goldenrod.
Identification: Relatively distinctive among VT fauna, though small and not particularly ‘bee like’. Males and females both have yellow marks on the face and 6 to 8 yellow dots on the abdomen.
