Aeshna verticalis (Green-striped Darner)A bit of a state odonate mystery. Sporadic and uncommon in Vermont yet fairly common elsewhere across its range. Normally prefers peatlands, ponds and wet meadows. But the paucity of Vermont records makes it difficult to draw conclusions about its distribution and abundance in the state. Numbers seem quite variable from year to year.
