The range of Boll’s Grasshopper is given as eastern North America to New Mexico, with its preferred habitat as old fields and sunny forest openings with dry grasses.

A reference from 1920 gives early July until late October as the period when adults are seen in New England (Morse, 1920). iNaturalist shows observations recorded June through November, peaking July – August.
