Due to the ongoing risks to health and safety posed by Covid-19, all Birder Broker participants will be expected to follow state guidelines for outdoor recreation, including:

-Wearing a cloth face mask

-Maintaining 6+ feet of distance between yourself and anyone outside your physical household

-Staying home if you feel sick

-Practicing good hygiene including frequent hand-washing/sanitizing

The above are general health and safety guidelines to follow. There are also several guidelines specific to Birder Broker, listed below.

-Please refrain from sharing optics (binoculars, scopes, cameras, etc.)

-Remain outside during Birder Broker visits (no indoor visits for coffee/tea before birding!)

-Maintain an open line of communication with your birder or landowner partner

In regards to that final point, we would like to encourage all Birder Broker volunteers to keep in contact with their birder or landowner partner to discuss how their Birder Broker visits will differ from the last summer they met up to go birding. Landowners who would prefer to limit potential contact with their birder partner are welcome to invite them over to bird solo, and birders who would feel more comfortable birding solo should reach out to their landowner partner to arrange visits.

Any questions or comments about the above protocols can be sent to us at
