One of our 'Most Wanted' species, this relatively distinctive bee has not yet been found in Vermont, but is known from several sites in central New Hampshire and Massachusetts. It is closely tied to blueberries and similar flowers, but only where there is sufficient sand for nesting.

Identification: This is a large species with a distinctly long face.
Similar Species: Most similar the Unequal Cellophane Bee (Colletes ineaqualis), but readily distinguished by the length of the face
