Description of Habitat

Residence in rural Vermont with many feeders. He likes dried meal worms, and my home made suet.

Behaviors Observed

He hangs out with a flock of bluebirds. Currently, there are 23 bluebirds!

Description of Vocalizations

He does not make a sound in the winter, but in May, he begins his single whistle.

Verbal Narrative & Description of Observation

This bird is a miracle that has blessed my husband and I for these past 3 winters. As of 10 days ago, he has been joined by another oriole! That one is either a fledgling, or a female, and they are now coming together every day to my yard. This will be verified by Catheryn Abbot and her associate as they come tomorrow to take better pictures.

IMPORTANT: What similar species were eliminated when making the identification and how was this bird different?

He is definitely a Baltimore Oriole.

Other Notes & Comments

He was a fledgling in 2016, so he is now 3.
