The Huron Short-winged Locust is an uncommon grasshopper. It ranges from British Columbia to Quebec, south into adjacent U.S into the upper Midwest, New England, and along the east side of the Rockies to northeastern Wyoming.
It may be found in clearings in woods, along woods margins among clumps of red raspberry, among old stumps, and in wire grass and vines of dewberry. Its food habits are not well known.
