| Description of Habitat | Otter creek, extremely low, |
| Behaviors Observed | It wasn't bothered by my presence. It wasn't feeding. It preened itself a couple times but otherwise was basking in the sun |
| Description of Vocalizations | I never heard it make a sound |
| Verbal Narrative & Description of Observation | I saw what I thought to be a green heron until I saw it's hooked bill. I wasn't sure of the species at that time. It was very different than any bird I had seen so I took multiple pictures and tried not to disturb it. |
| Relative Size & Shape | It was at least 2 to 3 ft in length. I never saw it fly away. It was quiet. I'm used to seeing great blue herons. He was about half as long. |
| Head | I didn't see any crown, he had the neck of a heron, a white breast and brown wings. I tried finding the species, found it to be an immature white ibis. |
| Feet & Bill | His bill is what caught me off guard, very hooked and he had legs and feet like a heron. |
| IMPORTANT: What similar species were eliminated when making the identification and how was this bird different? | I knew it wasn't a heron because of his bill, the only other birds close were both ibis. It wasn't until I found the immature ones plumage then I knew that was him |
| Other Notes & Comments | He was young but I have no idea of sex. |
