Description of Habitat

My backyard with large trees and a variety of shrubs.
Others present: WBNU, AMGO, TUTI, BCCH

Behaviors Observed

Bird dropped in and perched on an upright board. Appeared to be searching for food, hopped to another board then flew.

Verbal Narrative & Description of Observation

I was sitting on our deck waiting for any nighthawks that might fly over when the warbler landed on one of the upright boards.(deck under construction)
Bird looked around as if searching for food.
I made note of it and entered it on eBird within the hour.

Relative Size & Shape

Small petite warbler shaped.

Head

Fairly dull color, split pale eye-ring, throat dull olive.
Dusky olive upper parts.

Feet & Bill

Sharply pointed thin bill black in color.

Upper Back

Plain dull dusky olive.

Lower Back & Rump

Same dull color.

Wings

Dull darker olive.

Breast, Belly, Flanks, Under Tail Coverts

Undertail coverts dull yellow as was were other underparts.

Tail

Longish tail unmarked.

IMPORTANT: What similar species were eliminated when making the identification and how was this bird different?

Yellow warbler has bright yellow plumage .
Tennessee warbler no split eye-ring and white undertail coverts.
1st winter mourning warbler has complete white eye-ring and brighter yellow breast.
