Description of Habitat

Edge of lake cattails mud snails clams ducks

Behaviors Observed

Flight from white birch towards ducks on the hill then landed in another white birch. Flew to the edge of the lake to feed

Description of Vocalizations

None

Verbal Narrative & Description of Observation

Foraging in the weeds mud and it's long beak would often have something in it. The ducks became bold and would try to approach the bird but the bird would jump ahead and continue to feed.

Relative Size & Shape

It had a white area under its wing and near its tail feathers when flying
