| Description of Habitat | Seasonally wet and muddy. A slow creek, hills and mountains. Spruce, fir, birch trees, some larch, many snags, and dying trees. |
| Behaviors Observed | No visual observations i only hear them singing at night |
| Description of Vocalizations | A rising hooting trill starting with lower sounding notes and ending on a higher note |
| Verbal Narrative & Description of Observation | I hear 1 bird singing all night starting at dark around 8pm till 3am the same song, and have not heard it sing any other song. So it has a limited repertoire. |

| IMPORTANT: What similar species were eliminated when making the identification and how was this bird different? | Eastern screech owl, i have not heard any whinnies or trills that sound like a screech owl. Northern saw whet owl has a too too too song which is different from the trill i am hearing. |
