| Head | yellowish head with speckled black crown. White throat outlined in black. Black surrounding base of bill. |
| Feet & Bill | Conical pink bill |
| Upper Back | striped brown |
| Wings | Brown with two white wing bars |
| Breast, Belly, Flanks, Under Tail Coverts | White breast and belly, black streaks in flanks. |
| IMPORTANT: What similar species were eliminated when making the identification and how was this bird different? | White-throated Sparrow, Song Sparrow, and Savannah Sparrow do not have yellowish head with black crown. Henslow's Sparrow is much smaller and doesn't have the pink bill. |
| Other Notes & Comments | Bird was first briefly observed on the prior day (1/13/22), but enough detail was not observed to certain of this rare sighting. We returned on 1/14 to get better looks and documentation. The white throat with black outline indicate that this is a 1st winter bird. Sex was not determined. |
