| Description of Habitat | In White Pine stand within housing complex adjacent to golf course, Battenkill River and wooded area. No other bird song/calls were heard at that time. No other birds were seen at that time. |
| Behaviors Observed | From where I was, I could not see the bird. |
| Description of Vocalizations | A two-parted, nasally call: “Caw-aw”. First part of call higher than second. A higher pitch call than American Crow, slightly more emphasis on first note. |
| Verbal Narrative & Description of Observation | This was an incidental observation. I could not see the bird from my location and did not want to move to a better viewpoint and risk scaring it off. I was not prepared to make a drawing, and did not have binoculars. I made the observation by what I heard only. |
| IMPORTANT: What similar species were eliminated when making the identification and how was this bird different? | This identification was done by sound of call only. A similar species could have been an American Crow but the call of this bird was distinctly different. |
