| Description of Habitat | A mostly wooded area along Furnace Brook, a mix of deciduous and evergreen trees, with developed canopy and understory of saplings, ferns, moss. Area is defined as a "humid continental climate". |
| Behaviors Observed | Male flying from tree, perching on rock, flying up to join female, who was perched in tree still (10ft). Both flying away together (30ft). Birds acted as if observers weren't there. |

| Verbal Narrative & Description of Observation | The male painted bunting flew down from a tree branch onto a large rock 10 feet away from me at eye level. He stood sideways to me, facing left, for perhaps a minute. Then flew back up into the tree, joining a female. The two flew further away into another tree. |
