It was on a mowed lawn

Feeding in the company of a small group of common grackles

Verbal Narrative & Description of Observation

I pulled into my parking space and immediately noticed it feeding in the grass in front of me, I got my phone out and took the best pictures I could.

Relative Size & Shape

Similar to a common grackle

Yellow

Feet & Bill

Bill was black and long like a grackles

Upper Back

Black

Lower Back & Rump

Black

Wings

Black with white patch

Breast, Belly, Flanks, Under Tail Coverts

Upper breast was yellow, everything else black

Tail

Longish like a grackle, black without any markings

IMPORTANT: What similar species were eliminated when making the identification and how was this bird different?

The only thing remotely similar is a bobolink and it wasn’t that.
