| Verbal Narrative & Description of Observation | As I turned onto the road I noted the raptor perched on the tree limb. It was different than other red-tailed hawks that I was used to seeing. I took a photo to document the bird. |
| Relative Size & Shape | Typical buteo shape , large sized raptor. |
| Head | head was all dark brown. |
| Feet & Bill | feet were tucked into feathers so not seen. Bill appeared dark. |

| Wings | wings from side view were dark with some white spots. Length was nearly as long as tail projection. |
| Breast, Belly, Flanks, Under Tail Coverts | Upper breast had the dark brown dribbles from the head. Belly band was dark and extensive. From what I could see undertail coverts appeared to be whitish. |
