Ledge Grasshopper (Spharagemon saxatile)

The Ledge Grasshopper is found in broken rocky, mostly mountainous terrain from eastern Tennessee/western North Carolina northward into Ohio, southeastern Quebec, and New England. It may also be seen in far northwestern Georgia as well.

In the above range it may be found on exposed ridgetops, rocky slopes, old quarries, upland old fields, and woods margins.

Phenology

Overwinters as eggs, with adults from late June or July to frost.
