The range of the Crested Pygmy Grasshopper is eastern United States and adjacent portions of southern Canada, where it is found in dry locations, such as pastures, sandy areas with rocks, lichens, etc.

Also called Crested Grouse Locust, Northern Crested Grouse Locust.
